„A growing number of young girls are being forced to marry in Iran, UN rights experts warned Thursday, decrying laws permitting sexual intercourse with girls as young as nine. Following a review of the situation in Iran, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) urged the country to ‚repeal all legal provisions that authorise, condone or lead to child sexual abuse.‘ The committee, which is made up of 18 independent experts who monitor the implementation of international children’s rights treaties, said it was ‚seriously concerned‘ over reports that child marriages in Iran were on the rise. A growing number of ‚‘girls at the age of 10 years or younger … are subjected to child and forced marriages to much older men,‘ CRC said.“ (weiter hier)
