„An influential figure in the Popular Mobilization Forces has revealed that Damascus requested the Tehran-backed paramilitary organization to fight in Syria after its campaign against ISIS in Iraq comes to an end.
‚The Syrian government under Bashar al-Assad sent an invitation to the commanders of the Popular Mobilization Forces to enter Syria after liberating Iraq,‘ Hadi al-Ameri, the leader of the Badr Organization, told Sputnik News Tuesday.
The Syrian government has made no official statement on the matter, however a number of Iraqi Shiite militias within the Popular Mobilization Forces, including Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba and Kataib al-Imam Ali among others, are already fighting on behalf of the Assad regime in Aleppo, Palmyra and other flashpoint fronts.“
Und wo seine Loyalitäten liegen, das hat Ameri immer ganz deutlich gemacht:
„In early 2015, al-Amiri said of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that he ‚is the leader not only for Iranians but the Islamic nation. I believe so and I take pride in it.‘ Al-Amiri also retains a strong relationship with Iran and its military envoy to Iraq, Qasem Soleimani. According to senior Iraqi politicians, al-Amiri is the commander closest to Iran on the battlefield.“
